What are your thoughts of the cervical cancer vaccine?
What are your thoughts on the HPV vaccine? Do you feel that this is a major issue? Isn’t the best way to prevent HPV to not be sexually active outside of marriage?

I honestly think its a good thing, but the side effects are kinda risky. I would actually recommend it

I think its work in progress and they are on the right track.
Marriage is an option and Not a requirement so what does that have to do with cancer.

yes but then the best way to avoid any virus is to not have conatact with people or animals and live in a sterile bubble.
I am not advocating rampant premarital sex ( not denouncing it either) but if you can prevent a disease why would you not.

Allowing a profit making industry such as pharmaceutical companies to force teenage girls to get a vaccine is a mistake. It should be up to the parents.

My personal opinion is not to take it until it’s been out for a few years. If it were my caugter I would not want her to become the test subject for a vacinne that is not yet proven. I wonder what it will do to a woman 20 years down the line. Remember hormone replacement therapy was supposed to be good for your heart and they’ve since found out otherwise.

The best way to prevent any STD is to not have sex before marriage. You have to look at it from a more realistic view however. People are having sex with various partners throughout their lifetime. About 2 Million people are living with HPV. If there is a vaccine that reduces the chance of cervical cancer within women there is no reason it shouldn’t be offered.
I think it should be made available to all women that are sexually active (at places like planned parenthood) but not required. The current required vaccines are required because if a child doesn’t have them they may get the disease and spread it to other children. Since HPV is spread sexually there isn’t the same chance for widespread infection among children.

I feel that there could be some risk. These days you want to be careful who you trust. I think that a lot of companies are corrupt these days. Things are being put out on the market without the proper research. After a bunch of people get the shot thinking that it is helping them, they may find out that it had something in it that could actually hurt them. I’m kind of paranoid about anything new, due to lack of proper research.

Yes I think your right ,not to be sexually active is the best prevention
My first thoughts were, its great,I’m glad they have a solution,
second tho, is I think it should be optional, not a requirement til the individual reaches an understanding,of what it is for. If it were an air born, and contagious that would be different Legal adult age( they can keep their pants on.defiantly a way to prevention)"Joke"
harmful side effects, should be considered may-cause ill effects,in some.
I think it would take are rights away if made mandatory, and that’s not fair. And as far as a Major issue, do we need any more?

it is a great idea- not all sex outside of marriage is consensual.

I think it;s great as my mom and 2aunts had cervical cancer and with this vaccine they won;t have to go thru this if they get it,, as for not having sex to prevent it ; is unreal ..teens are going to have sex anyway ;so give them the vaccine so they won;t get this terrible kind of cancer if it is preventable..,,.., lol

If it really can keep women from HPV, that would be a good idea. But some guys mentioned they just want to earn money, that really sucks.
The vaccine is only available to woman aged 9-26, for those who do not have sexual intercourse or never got HPV. For those who already have got it or old woman, no effeiciency.

I think its a good idea..
