Scientists developed a set of guidelines to address the safety of DNA technology. Which of the following is one of the adopted safety measures?

A)Microorganisms used in recombinant DNA experiments are genetically crippled to ensure that they cannot survive outside of the laboratory.
B)Genetically modified organisms cannot be part of our food supply.
C)Transgenic plants are engineered so that the plant genes cannot hybridize.
D)Experiments involving HIV or other potentially dangerous viruses have been banned.
E)Recombinant plasmids cannot be replicated.

Are you getting a flu vaccination this season?

i’m not because of: mercury content, microchips, and the fact that vaccinated people can still get sick. and after all is said and done i’ll be immune anyway. Seriously ask yourself how can the virus mutate every frikin year? HIV has been around since the 50’s and it’s only mutated once. Either Influenza virus DOESN’T mutate that often and they want us to think it does, OR they’re engineering different viral DNA every year and releasing it into the population. We should have the same Flu virus that we had last year..and if it DOES mutate that often then 1 vaccine wouldn’t defend anyone against the multitude of viral DNA variations….think about it….and if there are so many mutations how do they always get the right vaccine designed for that specific mutation?

Does this article mean dogs can have HIV ?

STRANDSTROM et al have observed that 50% of normal and sick dogs sera reacted with one or more recombinant proteins of the Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV). By using HIV 1 and Human T lymphotropic virus (HTLV) I and II commercial Western Blot (WB), we have studied 30 dogs sera with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and 19 of dogs with lymphoma. Nine normal dogs are tested as control. For HIV 1 WB, none of the 49 sera collected in dogs with diseases and of the 9 normal sera is reactive. On the other hand, for HTLV I/II WB, 5 sera of SLE dogs and one serum of a dog with lymphoma are reactive. Three SLE sera give a P24 band only and the two other SLE sera a P42 band only. The serum of the dog with lymphoma is reactive with 3 proteins (rgP21, P24 and P42). Our results are not similar with those obtained by STRANDSTROM et al despite the used HIV antigens are equivalent. A significantly number of sera (10.2%) is reactive in the HTLV I/II WB. The hypothesis of a retroviral agent in dog’s species may be evoked.

IF DOGS HAVE HIV PROTEIN IN THEM DOES THAT MEAN THEY CAN TRANSMITT HIV TO HUMANS ?

I have a bunch of questions i need help with (mainly about AIDS/HIV)…?

1. Why can’t scientists use a weaked or killed HIV in a vaccine, as is done with other vaccines?

2. Why must researchers use humans to test an AIDS vaccine?

3. Why might vaccines using bacterial plasmid DNA be very effective?

4. What particular type of cell does HIV infect, and what proteins are involved during the entry stage?

5. What do the enzymes reverse tanscriptase and intergase do to help HIV?

6. How might scientists interrupt the HIV life cycle?

Any help would be much appreciated. I’m doing a project and these are some things I’m confused about, thanks.

What do you guys that got the Gardasil vaccine? How is that and should I get it?

I recently got a pap smear, I also got an Aids test just recently I started taking care of my health I know it’s late but should I also get this vaccine. Oh and if anyone has eve rbeen diagnosed with HIV how did they let you know?

What is the expectation about when there will be an HIV vaccine?

Do anybody know what is the current stage in the research for an HIV-vaccine ?

Is it true that some pharmaceutical companies are trying to slow down this research, because they can earn much more if the HIV-patients are depending there whole life on medication?

Can you suggest some usefull websites with more information about this subject?

Inject HIV into your child as a Mandatory Vaccine?

Some seem to think your kid will grow up to indulge in one of the few ways to get HIV AIDS. For the small % which get it, its unfair that most people get to live without AIDS. So to be fair, and safe… Should ALL children be forced to be injected with HIV vaccine? (made from hiv)

Hopefully a few generations later, HIV will be hardcoded into human DNA world wide.
So, you would allow "dead HIV cells" inside your child?
Do you feel threatened by HIV? Think your capable of getting it from the risks you take? The morons with terd answers who got thumbs down allready have HIV from rectum related injection methods.
It is a serious question. Because it is serious consideration. There are powerful people who want to fund a AIDS vaccine. Vaccines contain what they are suposed to stop.

And fact is there ARE mandatory vaccines.
"HIV vaccine? It does not exist (yet), and if it did, injecting people with it would not give them AIDS. (Its a vaccine.) " Right, it will give them HIV cells.

And yes. Adding things to the body can effect DNA. When reproductive cells are made, they are effected by all chemicals in your body, and would carry on the traces of HIV. After a few generations, HIV would be hardcoded.

World History question, if you don’t know, please dont answer?

I’m doing homework and I have a couple questions? 1) How did Salk’s and Sabin’s discoveries affect the advancement of medicine? A-a cure for tuberculosis was found. B-Polio was almost entirely eliminated C-Bacterial infections could be treated D-knowledge of genetics increased 2)What discovery has helped scientists gain a better understanding of human genetics? A-HIV B-DNA C-Penicillin D-vaccines 3)What is an example of how computers have led to advances in medical technology? A-CAT scans B-gene mapping C-vaccinations D-x-rays Please answer, if you dont no dont asnwer plz!

Are HIV Virus Infections Attracted To Any Specific Locus?

Are HIV Virus Infections Attracted To Any Specific Locus?

I am wondering if a vaccine for HIV could be practical if the scientists only had to worry about just certain parts of the genome/DNA.
Are infectious viruses attracted to certain locations (loci?) of the genome.
If that was the case then perhaps just a small part of the DNA could be inhibited by drugs.
