What is the difference between a biopharmaceutical science and a chemistry program?

Adult Stem Cell and Embryonic Stem Cells.?

Okay, can somebody tell me if I am correct?

Adult stem cells are cells found in any human being. They can be found in various tissues. When cloning these cells, you can only replicated it to be the same cell. So, if it was a skin cell, it could only turn into another skin cell. Sometimes a body doesn’t accept these cloned cells, though.

Alright, and then the embryonic cells.
they are an embryo that is taken from a mother’s womb. They can be used with any sort of tissue, and will be a custom fit with any body.

Am I right?
If not, somebody please explain the difference.
Also, why would somebody use an adult cell over the embryonic cell, and vice versa?

I am doing an essay on gene therapy focusing on adenovirus. What diseaes are targeted using adenovirus?

I am planning to include the most popular cystic fibrosis, but other than that …i should include at least 2 other diseases that use adenovirus are a vector in gene therapy. I wanted something less common ….maybe not monogenetic diseases as CF is already one. Anyone has any suggestions of what kind of interesting disease i can include??

Why is gene line therapy illegal, but body cell gene therapy legal?

To date germ line therapy has been carried out on animal eggs, sperm and embryos but at present it is illegal to do this on humans.
It is however possible to modify the faulty genes in the cells of a grown child or an adult to cure diseases like cystic fibrosis. This is called body cell gene therapy.

STRANDSTROM et al have observed that 50% of normal and sick dogs sera reacted with one or more recombinant proteins of the Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV). By using HIV 1 and Human T lymphotropic virus (HTLV) I and II commercial Western Blot (WB), we have studied 30 dogs sera with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and 19 of dogs with lymphoma. Nine normal dogs are tested as control. For HIV 1 WB, none of the 49 sera collected in dogs with diseases and of the 9 normal sera is reactive. On the other hand, for HTLV I/II WB, 5 sera of SLE dogs and one serum of a dog with lymphoma are reactive. Three SLE sera give a P24 band only and the two other SLE sera a P42 band only. The serum of the dog with lymphoma is reactive with 3 proteins (rgP21, P24 and P42). Our results are not similar with those obtained by STRANDSTROM et al despite the used HIV antigens are equivalent. A significantly number of sera (10.2%) is reactive in the HTLV I/II WB. The hypothesis of a retroviral agent in dog’s species may be evoked.

Will there ever be a time in the future where there are no more Caucasians?

Scientists are figuring out stuff like human cloning, stem cell research, and genetic modification. Maybe it’s possible to make babies custom made? You can weed out all the diseases and make the baby nice and strong and smart with blue eyes, blond hair, and pale skinned. Maybe they can make melanin that has no pigmentation so Caucasians can be safe from the UV rays but still look Caucasian.
