Is there a flu vaccine for those of us with severe egg allergies yet?
I have always had a severe allergy to eggs and was always told I could not take the flu vaccine by my doctors. I was wondering if maybe the AMA has come up with one yet? I’ve searched for an answer and can’t find anything on the web.

I heard on the news a week ago, as of right now no there is not! Just good hand washing and hygiene, not drinking after people that such!

DNA vaccines are coming, and they do not use eggs. However, it will be some years before they are on the market, primarily because the FDA does not know what to do with DNA vaccines for approval.

nope.
people with mild to moderate egg allergy are urged to go ahead with the swine flu vaccine, because the benefit of the vaccine is thought to outweigh the discomfort of the allergic reaction.
my problems not with allergies though, im vegan, and although i recognize the importance of vaccinations, its against my morals and belief system to use eggs. so until the AMA has a long-due realization that the flu vaccine could be grown in something other than chicken eggs, well just have to wash our hands with a little more soap and hope we dont get the flu
