If You Love Biology… HELP ME WITH MY STUDYGUIDE PLEASE! =]?
i know its alot of ?`s but if you can help @ all it would be appreciated!
1-what features do we use to identify bacteria?
2-what roles do bacteria serve in the environment?
3-what was a problem with traditional classification
4-how many taxonomic categories did Linnaeus define? What is the largest? most specific?
5-what are the different types of isolation?
6-what are the 2 main sources of genetic variation?
7-what are the polygenic and single gene traits?
8-how do we represent polygenic traits?
9-what is the DNA nucleotide composed of?
10-what is the structure of DNA?
11-which bases pair in DNA?
12-how is RNA different from DNA?
13-what controls the timing of the cell cycle?
14-what are the products of mitosis and cytokinesis?
15-during the cell cycle, when do chromosomes become visible?
IF YOU CAN HELP ME, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

2> They create food for us, keep the environment clean, and help with the breaking down of dead organisms.
3> People were getting too confused with it because different people called it different things.
5> Temperal, Geographical, and reproductive.
I had ALL of this not too long ago. But I still can’t remember it, and if I had my book with me, I could be more help. Sorry…

9- its composed of 3 nitrogenous bases.

I submit that all of this is in your textbook and/or class notes.
The purpose of a study guide is for YOU to research the answers on your own. If you just copy what we put up here, you don’t learn.

1) gram staining
2) may roles. beneficial and harmful both.e.g. milk bacteria-beneficial, Bacteria causing T.B. are harmful.
3)No similarity in names of same type of organisms.
4)Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species
5)1 Allopatric
2 Peripatric
3 Parapatric
4 Sympatric
5 Reinforcement
6)mutation & Adoptation
7) Polygenic traits- the phenotypic character(visible character) controlled by 2 or more than 2 Genes
Single Genic traits- the phenotypic character(visible character) controlled by only one Gene.
8)blood group is a polygenic character as it is controlled by 3genes- I^a, I^b and I^o
9)they are composed of- a heterocyclic base, a sugar, and one or more phosphate groups
10)its a Double Helix
11)adenine (A) forms a base pair with thymine (T), as does guanine (G) with cytosine (C) in DNA
12)in RNA posses ribose not deoxyribose, RNA is single stranded, and posses Uracil Base.
13)The progression of cell cycle is catalyzed by cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) which, as the name suggests, is activated by a special class of proteins called cyclins.
14)result is 2 Doughter cells of same no. of chromosomes as of parent cell.
15)early Prophase
