if you are a virologist, how will you combat a specific viral strain aside from vaccine, when the virus attacking cyto-toxic-Tcells?

I assume you are talking about combatting a viral strain that has infected a human. The only thing that I can think of is antivirals against the specific strain, if available.

1) nuclease rreverse transcriptase inhibitor
2) protease inhibitor (prevent formation of capside, in other words, the house of the virus)
3)non-nuclease reverse transcriptase inhibitor (prevent formation of more reverse transcriptase, the responsible of the incorporation of the viral DNA into the host DNA, thats how AIDS work.

Occasionally one can interfere with transcription but this only works for a few virus types. Antiiditopes or antibody (MAb) are technically vaccines so they could be applied possibly. One could take gamma globulin from a convalescing patient but is risky. Perhaps a few others if I actually applied myself.
