can lemon be used as an enzyme for DNA extraction?
it’s an experiment. i dont have meat tenderizer, contact lens cleaner, or pineapple juice on hand. so i want to know if lemon juice can be used as an enzyme in DNA extraction. please answer ASAP

i’m not sure about lemons, but i did an experiment at school and we used soap, and salty water for dna extraction of a strawberry.. it came out pretty cool

Lemon juice is not an enzyme, it denatures (destroys) enzymes/proteins due to its low, acidic pH level.
But lemon juice can be used to denature the dnase enzyme that degrades DNA.
