(Sponges are animals. They do not have specialized muscle tissue).
Characteristics that biologists use to classify organisms are
None of the above. Classification has been a "catch as catch can" venture, with unrelated organisms grouped together, and related organisms being separated.
You’ll notice that turtles and crocodiles are reptiles (Reptilia) but birds arent (Aves) — and yet, crocodiles are more closely related to birds than crocodiles are to turtles.

You are correct, the first answer is C.
I would say the second one is ‘A’. All animal cells are not diploid- for example humans have haploid gamete cells.
And you are correct for the third one too; the answer is c.

Biologists know that viruses:
C. consist of a protein surrounded by a nucleic acid coat.
Viruses latch onto other cells, then inject their DNA or RNA into the host so that their DNA or RNA can use the host cell’s organelles to reproduce.
Which of the following is NOT a characteristic of animals?
A. All of their cells are diploid.
The gametes (sex cells used in reproduction) are not diploid cells. They are haploid.
Characteristics that biologists use to classify organisms are
c. binomial nomenclature, shared derived characteristics, evolutionary systematics.
