Licensing Opportunity:

Fermentation process for industrial production of plasmid DNA (pDNA).

NTC’s leading DNA fermentation process technology is available for production of DNA vaccines, gene medicines, and plasmids for viral vector production. A standard, non-exclusive technology transfer gives access to the process, know-how and media needed to obtain much higher yields of DNA (up to 2g DNA/liter, or more).

Advantages

The process results in highly purified pDNA, with reduced bacterial (genomic) DNA.  This makes the DNA easier to purify from biomass (reduced cell mass per g DNA), dramatically reducing the cost per unit.  The DNA is also of higher purity than DNA obtained by comparable methods, and is usually almost 100% covalently closed super-coiled monomer DNA.  The process is environmentally friendly because the waste streams are reduced. The results are: best possible product and greater ROI.

Licensing Mechanism

A non-exclusive commercial license is available.  Generally, a pilot project (Process Development) determines the optimal fermentation conditions, media, etc. for obtaining the highest possible yield from a given plasmid.  Based upon known yield and purity standards for a given plasmid, Technology Transfer (of the patent rights, formulae, know-how, etc.) is completed. Industry standard terms apply.

Licensing Agreement Options

A) Fermentation Process License Agreement: DNA Manufacturing for Resale

B)
Fermentation Process Commercial Use License Agreement
