Advantages

Outsourcing vector production to NTC now offers an attractive alternative solution to either in-house production or piecemeal contract production. It may be possible to outsource your company’s entire vector production schedule for only a small percentage of your current cost. Use our program to improve reliability, speed and cost control, while gaining the upper hand on quality.

Reliability

Plasmid DNA is traditionally produced by either cesium chloride/ethidium bromide gradient centrifugation or by column purification. The latter method, used exclusively for small scale production at NTC, avoids mutations caused by ethidium bromide cross-linking and intercalation, and it provides a convenient way to eliminate endotoxins (lipopolysaccharides) leading to improved transfection efficiency, reduced toxicity and greater user satisfaction. Each plasmid DNA specimen is analyzed by spectrophotometry and restriction enzyme analysis to ensure integrity. The plasmid stock is picked from isolated colonies to avoid heterogeneity resulting from extended culture or the use of glycerol stocks.

Speed

Why wait six to eight weeks for plasmid DNA? NTC ships in 72 hours, although 1-2 weeks is required for first time delivery of a specified quantity of plasmid DNA. After the first order, however, NTC delivers in 24 hours due to a unique ordering program based on anticipated annual usage and guaranteed usage. NTC’s ‘just-in-time’ inventory re-supply program allows you to maintain smaller inventories and restock supplies on shorter notice. This means that DNA is always fresh, and inventories are reduced, leading to greater profitability, reduced insurance costs and improved bookkeeping.

Cost Control

NTC allows you to control inventories and obtain 'just in time' deliveries, thereby obtaining quantity discounts while incurring the least costs. You may choose to obtain specific amounts (mg-g), or to order your DNA based upon liters (no guaranteed yield). For larger quantities, NTC saves you money by providing the most efficient growth and purification process in the industry, using proprietary HyperGRO media.

Quantities from 1 mg - 10 gram are available in research and GLP grades.

The Results

Using NTCs virtual supply method, companies enjoy shortened time to delivery, decreased inventories, freed-up space and manpower for more important projects, and still provide highest quality products that are always fresh - and at a lower cost.
